Good afternoon,

The White House has announced a new offensive campaign against drug cartels connected to Venezuela. This morning, the U.S. Navy struck a drug-running boat. While attacking the supply-side of the drug trade is an important part, without some means of breaking dependence and lowering demand domestically, we’ll continue fighting the same losing war we helped create and that we’ve waged since at least 1971.

America’s antagonists have gathered in Beijing today to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second Sino-Japanese War (part of the larger Second World War). Chairman Xi Jinping hosted the usual suspects like Russian Dictator Vladimir Putin and North Korean ‘Supreme Leader’ Kim Jung Un, as well as leaders from Myanmar, Iran, Pakistan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Belarus and others to view the military spectacle.
